Anteaters is a common name for multiple species of the suborder Vermilingua as well as Tachyglossidae. They're mainly recognized by their long noses, which, as the name suggests, are used to feed on small insects and can be used to penetrate the hard cover of nest of terrestrial insects like for example ants or termites which they lick up with their long tongue.
