Rescue

A young hippo was rescued as she became stuck in the mud of a fast drying pond in Lamu, Northern Kenya. She was very small and weak so wouldn't have made it on her own. The hippo was brought to the rehabilitation center of The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust where she was given rehydration fluids, milk and a long shower to clean up her skin. Humpty as the baby was called, made a full recovery while she was in good care.
