Rescue
A young elephant was critically injured by a poacher's snare. The elephant named Mwashoti had cut one of his legs up to the bone by the cruel device. Wildlife Trust was quickly on the spot, the medical team cleaned the wound on site and applied a natural green clay to prevent infection. The team went back to check on him after three weeks, the elephant's condition quickly deteriorated. The decision was made to fly the animal over 200 miles to the orphanage in Nairobi National Park.

Now the elephant was under constant care. With daily treatment he quickly got more active and got to play with some friends. In the future Mwashoti may even be released back into the wild if he's healed well enough.
