Sea Turtle with Straw Up It's Nose
December 7, 2015
Rescue
This poor sea turtle was found near the coast of Costa Rica during a research trip and is yet another victim of our trash. The beautiful see creature got a plastic straw lodged in it's nostril. At first the researchers thought it was a parasitic worm but in the end it turned out to be a plastic straw of about 10 centimeters long. It turned out to be quite a battle to get it out. The turtle's nose stopped bleeding pretty much right after the straw was removed so the heroes of the story quickly set the animal free again.Animals: turtle
