March 3, 2017
Rescue
While sea turtles rarely go on land, this Kemp's Ridley sea turtle did do so. when they do, it's usually because they have problems and need help quickly as they cool off when on the beach and are likely to drown because of this when getting back in the water to quickly. We see the process of these animals, being rescued by volunteers from the Mass Audubon Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary after which they're brought to the New England Aquarium's animal care facility where they are nursed back to health and released in the wild again. The video contains beautiful footage of sea turtles and a detailed description of their behavior.
