Scientists try to learn more about the whale shark. They put a tag on it so they can follow the animal and learn more about it's behavior and how it travels. Sharks are become more and more endangered as there are an estimated 100 million sharks killed by humans every year. Satellite tags provide information on shark migratory patterns enabling governments to expand protected areas.
