International Animal Rescue got a call about a starving mother Orangutan and her 2 year old baby in the forests of Borneo. The ape was tranquilized so they could catch and inspect her. The emaciated animal hadn't eaten in quite a while due to a lack of food after the big forest fires. She wasn't able to produce milk for her child, so the rescue workers decided to take her to a rehabilitation center so she could strengthen. After 2 months, the orangutans were strong enough to be released back in a national park.

Animals: orangutan, ape
